Diverse Barrel Solutions is the exclusive importer/distributor for the renowned French cooperage Le Grand, a high-end barrel range manufactured in both traditional Bordeaux and Burgundian styles.
Marc Le Grand learnt his craft with some of France's major cooperages, but his pursuit of perfection prompted him to establish his own business. Today, Le Grand designs and manufactures an extensive range of barrels, tanks and open fermenters from the finest seasoned oak to meet the size, format and toast requirements of the individual winemaker.
Oak used in Le Grand barrels is purchased from Office National des Forêts (ONF) managed forests http://www.onf.fr/.
At the one site Le Grand stave material is milled, sorted, selected and stacked for all natural seasoning. Le Grand considers the seasoning to be of the utmost importance, and due to an abundance of space, has designed low height seasoning stacks that maximise the uniformity of water and wine flow through each seasoning stack.
